Pink Level: Sight Words

by Laura

Thee sight words give the child the necessities needed to start reading sentences and phrases. I personally don’t use them with my children or in my class; I would teach them the words as required while we were reading phrases and sentences.

You can use these many ways:

  1. Flash cards: Show them to your child several times a day. Give him a moment to figure out what it could be and if he doesn’t know, tell him and have him repeat it.
  2. Word-buiding: give him the wordbuiding letters and have him copy out the word, while repeating it to you and to himself several times.
  3. Memory game: print out two copies and play a memory game with them.
  4. Make-a-sentence: give the child a word and have him use it in a sentence.
