Worksheet: Mixing Colours

by Laura

Here’s a nice way to teach a child how two colors can mix together to form another (secondary) color.

  1. Download and print the worksheet.
  2. Get some yellow, magenta(red) and cyan(blue) paint, some water to rince and a paintbrush.
  3. Starting with the yellow colour (otherwise it will dirty and won’t work properly), pain the top circle.
  4. Clean the brush and do another circle. Show your child how the colours mix when they meet each other.
  5. Complete the third circle.
  6. When the paint has had a chance to dry, name the colors that are formed between each set of primary colours. Write the colour-name on the corresponding line.
