Zoo-Phonics Giveaway

by Laura on October 17, 2008

Give a dog a cookie, and he’ll follow you around everywhere. Offer a homeschooler a phonics program, and she’ll be your friend for life!

I think that there is an inbred gene for homeschoolers that make them want to seek out the best possible curriculum for their children. I am certainly no exception and while I’m trying to allow my daughter some semi-unschooling freedom in her education, I want her to have the best resources available to her to chose from.

Heart of the Matter Online is having a GIVEAWAYfor the Zoo-Phonics program.

Dawn’s 4th birthday is on Wednesday, what a wonderful gift this would be for her! She knows most of her letters, but quickly looses interest in her schoolwork. Her struggle these days is with some of the lower-case letters, such as p,q,b,d. I’m hoping that the attractive pictures will re-ignite her interest for forming those letters into words and remembering them!

Little Emily is shy of three years old, but is always interested in what we’re doing. She’s too young to understand the alphabet, but I bet that those colourful animals will encourage her to associate them with letters of the alphabet.

Following all that, I run a dayhome, and I’m sure my parents would be tickled-pink to have such wonderful resources for their children to learn from!

Zoo-phonics uses animals as a way of introducing letters to children. A cat curves to make a ‘C’, a tiger stretches out to form a ‘T’. By getting the children to associate sounds with the animals, they can later transition to the actual letters to help them understand how each leter has a unique shape and sound.

There are so many features, such as bingo games, word cards, videos, that it can work with children of many different learning styles. From what the review says at Heart of the Matter Online, if I had extra money, this is definitely one program that I believe would be worth investing in! To read what it has to offer, the “How Zoo-Phonics Works” page is the place to go!

If you want to try to win the giveaway, don’t waste anytime…the deadline is tonight at 7:00 om Eastern Standard Time.
