Revived Curiosity…

By Laura | December 10, 2008

It’s been just over a week since our move and I’m happy to see my girls settling in to their new home and routine. For the past few days–even though they’d play fervently–there was always the feeling that they weren’t completely at ease.

Today, Emily grabbed her table and hauled it in front of the TV. She turned it on, then grabbed some crayons, a chair and a kleenex (couldn’t find any paper) and set about colouring. It’s this time of comfort that I enjoy seeing in my children and makes me feel that they are truly accepting the new place as their home.

Dawn is finally stretched out on the couch, looking like she belongs rather than a guest who is merely here for a visit. Now that things have stabilized, I can pull out things that will grab their interest and encourage them to keep learning about their environment.

Emily coloring by the TV. I felt bad by her attempts to colour on a Kleenex, so found her a sheet of paper to work on.
