Let the Writing Begin!

by Laura

It still amazes me to see how children naturally develop their ability to read, write, and otherwise function in society.

Dawn went from writing words to writing sentences this past week. She started with sentences such as “Dawn is five years old,” stopping to ask me how to spell ‘years old’.

I’m trying to get my place organized after my hospitalization and get a better willingness for the girls to help if we do it together. They LOVE helping, as long as we do it together, so they dragged their large bag of clothes into the kitchen and I’d pull stuu out, fold it, then give it to them to put into their drawers.

Completed list.

Emily making another LEGO creation.

We had some canned pasta for lunch, though didn’t expect it to be such a challenge! Until meal assistance kicks in this week, I’m opting for convenient meals over nutritious. Well I wasn’t near able to get the plastic lids off, so I had Dawn take a go at them with a pair of scissors. She was successful with this as the end result:

She was kind enough to also hack Emily’s open. I waited for a visiting nurse to come by for mine and didn’t feel so useless when I saw that she also had to struggle quite a bit to get the lid off.

I haven’t been up to going out much this week, but my wonderful friend, M, was able to take my girls out with her own daughter a few times and it sounds like they had a blast!
