    Schoolboard by Mahlness

    In Alberta, homeschoolers must register through either a willing non-resident or (in some cases) resident school board. These school boards are responsible for overseeing the child’s progress, assisting with difficulties, and distributing the funding.

    Willing non-resident school boards do not have a residency requirement, meaning you don’t have to live on their territory in order to enroll with them. Most homeschoolers register with this type of board. The other kind is a willing resident schoolboard, which means you register with the board (if they allow it) whose territory you happen to reside in.
