<ul>
<li>1 medium onion -cut in half lengthwise, then sliced</li>
<li>2 TB olive oil</li>
<li>3 cups water</li>
<li>1 can corn niblets</li>
<li>2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced</li>
<li>4 cups milk</li>
<li>1 cup chopped white fish fillet (whatever you have on hand: sole, halibut, etc)</li>
<li>1/2 cup shrimp, chopped</li>
<li>1 can clams, with liquid</li>
<li>salt to taste</li>

<li>Place oil in large saucepan and add oinion. Fry until translucent.</li>
<li>Add water, corn, potato and milk. Bring to boil, cover and simmer 10 minutes.</li>
<li>Add seafood and salt. Simmer 10 minutes and remove from heat.</li>
<li>Either serve immediately or cool and refrigerate and reheat later. This chowder tastes better after being refrigerated.</li>
